Annual Lifeboat & Davit Inspection – Fujairah Anchorage
Annual Survey | Fujairah Anchorage | Totally Enclosed Lifeboat & Davit System
Commenced annual inspection of lifeboat and launching appliance under controlled conditions. Davit structure and winch foundation visually examined—no structural deformation observed. Winch brake and gearbox opened; brake lining condition found satisfactory, lubrication adequate. Hoisting and lowering carried out smoothly without abnormal noise or jerks.
Lifeboat falls, sheaves, chains, and terminations inspected in detail. No broken strands or sharp sheave grooves noted. Fall connections properly secured and aligned.
On-load / off-load release gear dismantled for close inspection. Hooks, locking surfaces, interlock mechanism, springs, and pins checked for wear and free movement. Components cleaned, reassembled, and function-tested. Release and reset operation confirmed correct with positive locking indication.
Air system inspected; pressure gauge readings within normal operating range. No leakage detected during holding test.
Operational lowering and recovery of lifeboat completed successfully. Winch brake holding, speed control, and emergency arrangements verified as satisfactory.
Status
- Lifeboat and launching appliance found operational
- No safety-critical defects observed
- Fit for continued service with routine maintenance
