Shark Jaw Control Valve Bypass Solution
“Necessity is the mother of invention.” – Plato
In a recent assignment, our hydraulic engineering team faced a critical challenge involving a malfunctioning solenoid control valve in a Shark Jaw system.
Upon inspection, both the main pilot-operated DCV and solenoid DCV showed significant internal leakages. OEM replacement was the ideal solution — but with extended lead times and the vessel scheduled to sail within 48 hours, time wasn’t on our side.
That’s when experience met ingenuity.
Our technician engineered a smart workaround by developing a bypass stand-alone system using locally available components. The modified setup successfully restored both normal operation and emergency functionality — ensuring zero compromise on safety or performance.
The result?
A vessel that sailed on time, a fully operational system, and another satisfied client.
Real challenges don’t wait — and neither do we.
